Frequently Asked Questions

Q. The BlueBeam can be powered three different ways, but what are the advantages of each?
A.
The BlueBeam includes two AA batteries, and no other power source is required, so this is a very good way to power the BlueBeam. To save on battery power usage, the BlueBeam may be powered through any USB connection; however, if the BlueBeam is powered via the PS3 USB connection with no batteries, the BlueBeam is not capable of turning the PS3 on. This is because the PS3 does not supply power through USB when it is off. The combination of USB and battery power is generally the ideal way to power the BlueBeam, but for installations where the Bluebeam is not near the PS3, it may be powered via AC to DC power adapter. Order the 571-013 power supply for this application.

Q. Can I use the BlueBeam right away, or do I have to set it up using the PC software?
A.
The BlueBeam is ready to pair with your PS3 as soon as you apply power, and will begin functioning with no further setup. The PC application simply provides advanced features, macros and settings for advanced integration.

Q. Where can I find the Logitech Harmony remote commands for the PlayStation 3?
A.
Follow the standard procedure for loading commands from the Harmony website.

Q. Where can I find CCF codes for my universal remote?
A.
If your remote control accepts CCF codes, download the code set here.

Q. What type of external IR receiver may be used with the BlueBeam?
A.
The new BlueBeam C-1071A is compatible with all standard IR receivers.
