• Hardware - The touch screen uses low-­power, long-­life LED backlights that require 25% less energy to light the display, the largest energy-consuming component. The innovative screen saver options insure this usage is also optimized. Additionally all components are RoHS compliant for heavy metals including lead and mercury.
• Finally, Cortexa touchscreens are low power computing platforms, which use just 10% of the energy of a PC. And using embedded OS means it works like an appliance. Power goes out - screen goes off - it comes back on - and it comes back to life, re-­interrogates the home systems, just like a typical appliance.
